Niels Pflaeging leaves the BBRT - New Beyond Budgeting network "BBTN" is being founded
|
After 5 years of pioneering work within the Beyond Budgeting Round Table, the network founded in 1998, Niels Pflaeging is ending his engagement as
BBRT director. This change became effective on 24 March, 2008. Niels is leaving the BBRT three months after Robin Fraser´s departure from the team.
With the end of his mandate, Pflaeging took up another responsibility, becoming director of the new "Beyond Budgeting
Transformation Network" (short: BBTN), an international association which is currently being founded. Together with Gebhard Borck (gberatung), Pflaeging is co-founder of
BBTN, which sets out to broaden the Beyond Budgeting movement, while building upon an "open source" platform.
As Pflaeging and Borck explain, the BBTN "helps organizations to transform their management models from command & control to beyond budgeting,
in order for them to sustain superior competitive success. The BBTN is the most important platform for achieving transformation and improving the model."

Chapter 4 from Niels´ latest book will be featured in the new "Best of Management" anthology ("Erfolgreich mit den Grossen des Managements"), which has been published by Campus in March 2008.
The anthology also contains book excerpts from the likes of Peter Drucker, Reinhard Sprenger, Hermann Simon, Knut Bleicher, and others.

MetaManagement Group presents innovative beyond budgeting change management framework

Developed and tested in client projects throughout 2006 and 2007, the change management concept for beyond budgeting initiative has now been unveiled. The concept was recently dubbed the Double Helix Transformation Framework, DHTF.
The framework was conceived by Gebhard Borck (GBeratung) and Niels Pflaeging, to cater to the necessities of management model transformations and to the profound change that organizations and individiuals must face in the process.
While the BBRT´s research since 1998 has proved that organizations are up for transformation from the "command and control" management model (practiced almost everywhere in firms, public organiazations and NGOs)
to a "decentralized network" model based on a different set of principles, the specific methodology to achieve radical change long remained unclear.

At the Beyond Budgeting Round Table Europe´s 40th membership meeting, Niels Pflaeging presented
recent learnings and practical approaches with regards to how to start transformation from the 20th century
management model towards the 21st century management model "beyond budgeting".
Focusing on a selection of tools and techniques for transformation, which have been used in
on-going transformation initiatives on two continents, Niels here gives ground-breaking insights into
change management initiatives with a Beyond Budgeting mindset.

German CFO talks about his firm´s transformational Beyond Budgetging "journey" at public conference.
| | René Reinhold, CFO of Paradigma Energie- und Umwelttechnik, a Germany-based firm specialized
in offering environmental-friendly heating systems, presented the story of the transformational beyond budgeting "case" in public in Nuremberg, Germany, at Cognos´ Performance 2007 conference.
Paradigma embarked on its transformation journey in January 2007, and has since initiated the "Fire" initiative, which aims at bringing
a full-fledge "beyond budgeting" management model to life at the firm. A model which will prepare the firm for industry leadership and substantial growth in a highly competetive and volatile industry.

Beyond Budgeting seminar tour in South America to continue in 2008
|
BBRT Director Niels Pflaeging facilitated a series of one-day introductory seminars on Beyond Budgeting in Latin America in 2006 and 2007. And this series is not about to continue in 2008!
So far, more than 1.900 professionals have attended Niels´ seminars in South American cities such as Buenos Aires, Bogotá, Cali, Guayaquil, Lima, Medellín, Montevideo, Panama, Quito, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, and Santiago de Chile.
The seminars, the first of its kind in spanish-speaking Latin America and held entirely in Spanish, were organized by Harvard Business Review Latin America, Alta Gerencia and TBL Group (for Ecuador).
Now, yet more workshops, speeches and seminars in the region are scheduled . The next dates are set already for Peru (Lima and Arequipa), Ecuador (Quito and Guayaquil) and Venezuela (Caracas and Maracaibo).

The first translation - into Portuguese - is under way, to be published by Bookman late in 2007.

"Reinventing the DNA of Management" - DVDs on Beyond Budgeting - now available
| | Two new DVDs on Beyond Budgeting are now available through the MetaManagement Group online store.
The first, in English language, features introductory keynote presentations by Robin Fraser (BBRT) and Magnus Uggla (Svenska Handelsbanken).
The second, in Portuguese, features an in-depth presentation of the model by Niels Pflaeging (BBRT).
The DVDs have a playing time of aprox. 90 minutes each and contain additional trailers with speaker and participant interviews.
Both DVDs were recorded at the BBRT´s 2007 Sao Paulo conference.
