Who should join the BBRT?
The BBRT community is an independent research and knowledge sharing collaborative with a global network of members supported by a leadership team. It welcomes all individuals and organizations that want to learn and improve their performance management models or help others to do so. Every BB journey is different. The principles are our map and compass. You draw on the experience of others but what you do and how you do it is up to you.
All members are 'general' members. This gives you access to the accumulated knowledge and to the network. Further learning can be accommodated through advanced membership groups and special interest groups. These enable members to learn more about applying the model in some particular way (e.g., to different industry types). The BBRT also welcomes management consultants and IT companies that want to develop client-based solutions from BB ideas and principles. The BBRT is funded from membership fees and 'pay-as-you-go' fees for specific services to members.
The invitation: Join the BBRT in Brazil and South America
Following the success of the Beyond Budgeting Round Table (BBRT) in both Europe and North America, its members have asked for more industry focused meetings and research. Also, the BBRT aims to offer its services to all organizations in South America. This invitation to join the BBRT in Brazil and South America, and the additional formal working groups that will follow.
The Beyond Budgeting Round Table South America (BBRT-SA) studies how South American organizations manage performance better without budgets as well as identify the budgeting and performance management practices of leading South American companies.
The BBRT-SA will be led by Niels Pflaeging.
The BBRT Brazil inaugural meeting was held on 26 November 2004 and took place in Sao Paulo. The next member´s meeting is planned for April 2006 and will be held in conjunction with the BBRT´s international Research Director, Jeremy Hope.
For further information and details, please contact Niels Pflaeging.

Joining the BBRT as a General Member is a requirement before members can join SIGs. Organizations that operate globally normally join globally (rather than just in one region). Advanced Members Groups (AMG) are a special form of SIG. They enable advanced members leading implementations within their organizations to share experience and address issues of common interest. They are for interchange of views and experience, not facilitated research. Such open discussion requires trusting relationships. Thus membership is by invitation from within the group. They are normally organized within regions, and members pay a small fee to cover operating costs.
