Niels published his new book on Beyond Budgeting - now: the Beta Codex (Campus, Germany)
Niels just published his third book, which is again being published by Germany´s Campus. We are happy to announce that the publisher chose to launch the work as one of its main titles in its "business & management" line in the autumn season 2009. The book is available in stores now under the title: "The 12 New Laws of Leadership. The Codex: Why Management is Dispensable"
This book has been conceived to give the Beyond Budgeting model the edge it deserves, about 10 years after its initiation, thus making the model far more understandable and appealing - and to a far wider audience. Be prepared, thus, for a fresh view on Beyond Budgeting and its promise. And for a new name: The Beta Codex.
Now published: Portuguese version of Niels´ award-winning book "Leading with Flexible Targets". Russian and Italian editions forthcoming Aug/2009 and early in 2010
The publication of "Leading with Flexible Targets", winner of the Financial Times Deutschland Best Business Book award, in Russian, Portuguese and Italian languages, is under way. The Portuguese-Brazilian version is available in stores already. If you wish to host a launch event in your city or region in Brazil or Portugal, please get in touch with us. MetaManagement Group presents innovative beyond budgeting change management framework
Developed and tested in client projects throughout 2006 and 2007, the change management concept for beyond budgeting initiative has now been unveiled. The concept was recently dubbed the Double Helix Transformation Framework, DHTF.
The framework was conceived by Gebhard Borck (GBeratung) and Niels Pflaeging, to cater to the necessities of management model transformations and to the profound change that organizations and individiuals must face in the process.
While the BBRT´s research since 1998 has proved that organizations are up for transformation from the "command and control" management model (practiced almost everywhere in firms, public organiazations and NGOs)
to a "decentralized network" model based on a different set of principles, the specific methodology to achieve radical change long remained unclear.
With solid implementation experiences under its belly, the DHTF offers the roadmap. A white paper on the framework can be accessed here. Or get in touch with us to schedule a workshop.

Niels Pflaeging leaves the BBRT - New Beyond Budgeting network "BBTN" is being founded
After 5 years of pioneering work within the Beyond Budgeting Round Table, the network founded in 1998, Niels Pflaeging is ending his engagement as
BBRT director. This change became effective on 24 March, 2008. Niels is leaving the BBRT three months after Robin Fraser´s departure from the team.
With the end of his mandate, Pflaeging took up another responsibility, becoming director of the new "Beyond Budgeting
Transformation Network" (short: BBTN), an international association which is currently being founded. Together with Gebhard Borck (gberatung), Pflaeging is co-founder of
BBTN, which sets out to broaden the Beyond Budgeting movement, while building upon an "open source" platform.
As Pflaeging and Borck explain, the BBTN "helps organizations to transform their management models from command & control to beyond budgeting,
in order for them to sustain superior competitive success. The BBTN is the most important platform for achieving transformation and improving the model."
